SUMMARY:Cloud Safe Task Force: Reciprocity and ATO Process Reengineering
DESCRIPTION: \nCloud Safe Task Force: Reciprocity and ATO Process Reengineering\n \nNovember 13\, 2024\, 1:00 PM – 4:35 PM ET\n \n Register \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Event Overview\n \n \n \n \n \n Consistent with its Recommendation Roadmap\, the Cloud Safe Task Force (CSTF) is meeting to address Authorization-to-Operate (ATO) Reciprocity in cloud security practices on November 13th. The meeting\, entitled “Reciprocity and ATO Process Reengineering” is structured to engage industry and government stakeholders in identifying the challenges and solutions for achieving “Reciprocity-at-Scale”.  Operating to dissuade service upgrades and create a barrier to small business entry\, the cost of security assessment and authorization (A&A) practices in the Cloud Services industry has become an impediment to technological innovation. Today\, many Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) must demonstrate compliance to multiple control frameworks specific to market sector and international boundaries. As a result\, a single cybersecurity control could be assessed multiple times creating costs without improvements in security. While reciprocity in A&A is not a new objective\, it continues to present challenges for industry and the US Government has renewed is focus to address the objective through recent actions including the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) FedRAMP Authorization Act\, DoD Reciprocity Playbook\, and M-24-15 FedRAMP Modernization memo. Join us as we collaborate to define a Whole-of-Nation approach to solving issues preventing reciprocity in A&A for Cloud Security. This talk explores the potential impact of quantum computing in transforming the way firms create and capture value in order to increase productivity and economic growth. Quantum computing takes advantage of the laws of quantum mechanics to provide fundamentally new ways of processing information. In doing so\, quantum computing promises societal benefits ranging from a step change in optimization and better simulation of materials to improvements in machine learning capabilities. Based on the experience of previous general-purpose technologies\, there is often a steep learning curve to innovate business models to contribute to productivity and economic growth. The talk will explore the opportunities as well as challenges of quantum computing in contributing to productivity growth. \nOpen Q&A discussion. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Zoom for Government enables ATARC remote collaboration opportunities through its cloud platform for video and audio conferencing\, chats and webinars across all devices. What if this could be done as an overlay to your existing network? The proposed design considers the answers to these questions and will be presented adhering to the following tenets: \n A perimeter around every resource How using a mesh VPN allows for applying an initial policy to a resource rather than a network\, even if the resource is not owned by an agency. \nLeast privileged access Demonstrate a policy design where all users arrive equal and must traverse policy checks as a resource at multiple levels to gain access to be assessed by the application. \nApplication enforces policy Describe an application with ZTA built into its design so that the application itself is responsible for determining access rights and how the infrastructure provides information to support decision making. \nUbiquitous Visibility Show how network\, device and application monitoring tools combined eliminate blind spots to allow applications to make informed policy decisions. \nContinuous Validation Demonstrate network and security tools that continuously assess posture and provide feedback on readiness. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Be part of this immersive event to understand\, explore\, and prepare for the future of cybersecurity. What once appeared impossible becomes seemingly inevitable. Artificial Intelligence offers such promise. Much like technological revolutions of the past\, this promise of new capability must be balanced against uncertainty and unintended consequences. Safeguards must be put in place. The requirement to ensure there is always a “human in the loop” represents one such safeguard to mitigate the risk of the unintentional or the unknown. However\, humans aren’t simply “in the loop” – they are the loop. The session will explore how re-focusing on the human loop of understanding information will drive the use (and prevent the misuse) of AI as the technology continues to evolve. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n James Donlon\n Senior Director\, Solution Engineering\, Oracle \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n }\n \n 1:48 PM\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Emerging Technology Talk\nAssessing Cyber Recovery Preparedness\nIn this tech talk\, Rubrik will challenge federal healthcare agencies to assess their true preparedness for recovering from a cyber attack. Many organizations believe their backups are sufficient\, but when faced with ransomware\, operational disruption\, and data integrity threats\, are they truly ready to recover? \nWe will walk through a scenario where an agency is hit with a cyber attack\, and explore critical questions: Can they recover data quickly? Is the data secure? How long will operations be down? We will demonstrate how moving beyond traditional backups to a comprehensive cyber recovery strategy can ensure readiness\, data security\, and operational resilience. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Bill Hackley\n Federal Sales Engineering Manager\, Rubrik \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n }\n \n 1:56 PM\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Navigating the New Normal: Cybersecurity Challenges in Healthcare IT\nHealthcare IT systems are increasingly vulnerable to cybersecurity threats\, posing significant challenges to patient privacy\, data integrity\, and overall system reliability.
